The 4 GHz frequency ceiling covers SDI, composite video, and L-band satellite IF without margin wasted on a higher-rated part.
Crimp Termination — Contact and Shield
The centre contact crimp secures the RG-179 signal conductor; the shield crimp wraps the cable braid for 360° coverage. This dual-crimp method gives consistent RF performance up to 4 GHz — no solder voids, no intermittent shield connection. The bayonet lock provides a quick quarter-turn mate with a standard BNC plug (male pin), and the panel-mount bulkhead with front-side nut holds the jack rigid against cable strain.
Panel-Mount Installation
The bulkhead flange sits flush against the panel face; the nut tightens from behind, which means the jack can be installed or removed without accessing the rear of the enclosure. Single-port configuration — one BNC jack per assembly, rated 300 V for the dielectric withstand between centre contact and shell.
