Product details

The Samtec BNC7T-J-P-GN-RA-BH2D is a TRUE75™ BNC7T series jack, female socket, built for 75 Ohm impedance systems. Rated to 12 GHz, it covers the full bandwidth of 12G-SDI video an.

75 Ohm is the standard impedance for video, broadcast, and cable television distribution — not the 50 Ohm used in general-purpose RF and telecom. Using this jack in a 50 Ohm system creates a return loss bump at the interface; it belongs in a 75 Ohm signal chain. The 12 GHz bandwidth is well beyond legacy video BNCs (which typically roll off around 3 GHz), so this jack handles 12G-SDI uncompressed UHD video without the amplitude droop that older connectors introduce at those data rates.

Mounting and Termination — What Ships in the Box

The centre contact and shield are both solder-terminated; the right-angle PCB tails route the signal to the board trace. No crimp tool needed — this is a solder-to-board part. The bayonet lock provides quick mate/demate with the matching 75 Ohm BNC plug.
