50-Position IDC Receptacle for 30 AWG Ribbon Cable
It uses a dual-row layout on a 0.050" (1.27mm) pitch, matching the standard spacing of 30 AWG rainbow or grey ribbon cable. The black housing includes a feed-through design and a polarizing key to prevent mis-mating during harness assembly. Gold-plated female sockets (10.0µin / 0.25µm) provide reliable contact for repeated connect-disconnect cycles in signal-level applications.
At 50 positions on a 0.050" (1.27mm) pitch, this receptacle handles a 25-pair ribbon cable — common for parallel data buses or multi-channel I/O. The 0.050" row spacing matches the cable pitch, so the IDC termination aligns each conductor directly over its contact without skew.
This connector terminates 30 AWG ribbon cable only — the IDC slot geometry is sized for that wire gauge. The feed-through feature lets the ribbon cable pass straight through the housing, so you can daisy-chain multiple receptacles along the same cable run without cutting the ribbon.
Contact Finish and Mating Cycles
The gold-on-gold interface resists oxidation in low-current signal paths — important when the circuit carries logic levels rather than power.
