Product details

SMA Jack for 20 GHz Signal Paths

The Samtec SMA-J-P-H-ST-MT1 is a 50-Ohm SMA jack, female socket, with a gold-plated brass body and PTFE dielectric. It's rated to 20 GHz, which covers the full Ku-band and reaches into K-band — useful for satcom, microwave backhaul, and test-fixture interconnects where the signal needs a clean launch off the board. The threaded coupling locks the mating plug in place; a half-turn loose here is a dropout, same as any SMA on a vibrating platform.

Mounting: SMT Pads Plus Through-Hole Anchors

This jack uses a hybrid mount — surface-mount pads for the RF launch and through-hole posts for the shell. The SMT pads keep the signal path short and controlled; the through-hole posts take the mechanical shear from cable strain and vibration. Shield termination is solder, so the ground path is continuous from the shell to the board ground plane.

Active Production — No Obsolescence Headache

No last-time-buy clock ticking here — it's still in regular production.

Frequently asked questions

What is the mounting type for SMA-J-P-H-ST-MT1?

It uses a hybrid surface-mount and through-hole mounting: the RF signal pads are SMT, and the shell is anchored with through-hole posts for mechanical retention.
