Product details

Right-angle USB-A with board lock

The USB-A-S-F-B-TH is Samtec's 4-contact USB 2.0 Type-A receptacle in a right-angle through-hole package with a shielded brass shell and integral board lock.

Orientation and mounting options

The USB-A-S-F-B-TH mounts horizontally (right-angle) through the PCB, while the sibling USB-A-S-F-B-VU uses a vertical flag orientation — the same 4-contact USB 2.0 Type-A receptacle, same gold plating and 1500-cycle rating, but the mounting axis differs to suit board-edge versus panel-face placement.

Mating cycle and contact finish

The gold finish on the mating contacts supports 1500 insertion/withdrawal cycles, which covers the reconnect duty of field-serviceable equipment without contact fretting.

Board retention and shielding

An integral board lock holds the connector in place during solder reflow and resists shear force from cable strain, while the brass shell provides continuous shielding across the mated interface.
