USB 2.0 Type-B receptacle with board lock
The USB-B-S-S-B-TH-TR is the 4-contact, single-port member of Samtec's USB-B series of USB 2.0 Type-B receptacles. It mounts through-hole right-angle with gold-plated contacts and is rated for 30 VAC across a -50°C to 85°C operating range.
1500-cycle mating and steel shell
Rated for 1500 mating cycles with gold-plated contacts — the gold thickness supports repeated insertion without exposing base metal to fretting corrosion. The steel shell provides EMI shielding and the board lock feature holds the connector in place during soldering and against cable strain.
Within the USB-B series, the USB-B-S-S-B-TH-TR (black housing, Tape & Reel) shares the same 4-contact count and 30 VAC rating as the bulk-packaged USB-B-S-S-B-TH (black) and the tray-packaged USB-B-S-S-W-TH (white) — the pitch, footprint, and gold plating are common across the series, so the choice between them is packaging and insulation color.
