34-Position AMP-Latch DIP Header for Ribbon Cable Interconnects
The TE Connectivity AMP-Latch 1-111382-9 is a 34-position DIP header designed for mass-termination of ribbon cable via IDC contacts. It sits in the AMP-Latch series, a long-running family of IDC connectors for parallel data and signal interconnects between boards and peripherals. Termination is IDC — insulation displacement — so the wire insulation is pierced during assembly without stripping. The press-fit mounting option means the header can be installed into plated through-holes without soldering, which suits backplane or high-reliability assemblies where rework is a consideration. The housing is black, and all 34 positions are loaded — no selective population option.
This header accepts 28 AWG stranded wire and 26-30 AWG solid wire. The IDC slot is sized for the 0.050" (1.27mm) cable pitch of standard ribbon cable. For a harness builder, the stranded range covers common signal cables; the solid range handles discrete wire jumpers where flexibility is less critical. No special tool is required beyond a standard IDC press — the termination force is set by the connector design, not the installer.
