14-Position IDC Plug for Ribbon Cable Harnesses
The TE Connectivity 1-111446-5 is a 14-position, dual-row plug from the AMP-Latch series, designed for mass-termination IDC (insulation displacement) to 26-28 AWG ribbon cable.
This plug terminates ribbon cable via IDC — the insulation is displaced by the contact tines as the cover is pressed down, making simultaneous connection to all 14 conductors. No stripping or crimping individual wires. The supported wire gauge range is 26-28 AWG; using a cable outside that range risks incomplete displacement (too thin) or insulation damage (too thick). The feed-through feature lets the ribbon cable pass through the connector body, so you can daisy-chain multiple plugs on one continuous cable run without a break or splice.
Free-hanging (in-line) mounting means this plug mates directly to a board-mount header or another free-hanging receptacle — no PCB footprint or panel cutout required. The dual-row, 14-position layout aligns with the matching 14-contact header on the board. The black housing provides visual polarity, and the feed-through profile keeps the cable path straight through the connector.
