The TE Connectivity AMP-Latch 1-111504-7 is a 20-position IDC plug designed for mass-termination of 0.100" pitch ribbon cable. Latch lock/eject hooks on both ends provide positive retention against vibration and give a lever point to break the mate when you need to pull the harness apart.
Wire Gauge and Termination — What Cable Fits?
This plug accepts 26-28 AWG ribbon cable terminated via IDC (insulation displacement contact). The feed-through feature means the cable passes straight through the connector body — no need to strip or prepare the wire ends; the IDC slots pierce the insulation as the cover is pressed down. For the panel/harness builder, that translates to a fast, repeatable assembly with the right hand-press or arbor press tool. The 0.100" pitch on both the contacts and the row spacing keeps the cable aligned without skew.
