What This Backshell Covers and How It Fits
The TE Connectivity 1-1478762-5 is a two-piece backshell from the ADK series, designed to terminate and shield the cable end of a D-subminiature connector. It accommodates 15-position standard D-subs and also fits 26-position high-density D-subs, both using shell size A. The 180° cable exit routes the cable straight out the back, keeping the assembly profile low for panel-mount applications where right-angle exit would interfere with adjacent connectors. The metal zinc construction with nickel plating provides the shielding path from the cable braid to the connector shell, and the included 4-40 mating screws secure the backshell to the D-sub. Grommets and a strain relief are part of the assembly hardware, so you don't need to source those separately.
