Barrier Strip for Panel Wiring
The TE Connectivity 1-1546670-8 is an 18-circuit barrier strip from the Buchanan series, designed for chassis or panel mounting where you need a screw-terminated power distribution point. It uses a dual-wall barrier construction (2 Wall) between each terminal to prevent accidental shorting between adjacent circuits — the wall keeps a stripped wire from bridging to the next screw when you're cinching down the connection.
What the Ratings Mean on the Panel
The 14-22 AWG wire range covers common panel conductors. The dual-wall barrier isolates adjacent terminals. The -40°C to 120°C range suits outdoor enclosures and warm panels.
Mounting flanges on each end let you bolt this strip to a chassis or panel — the flange holes are standard for the Buchanan series, so the panel cutout pattern is the same across different circuit counts. The top termination uses steel screws with a nickel finish; you tighten them onto the wire with a standard slotted or Phillips screwdriver. The closed bottom means the screw terminals are fully enclosed on the underside — no exposed solder tails or through-hole pins, so the strip sits flat against the mounting surface. The 36 wire entries (two per circuit, one on each side of the barrier) let you daisy-chain power across multiple terminals or land separate in and out wires on the same circuit.
