40-Pin DIP Socket with 0.6" Row Spacing — Fit and Footprint
The 1-1571552-2: The open-frame design leaves the centre of the socket clear, which aids airflow and lets you route traces under the socket body on the PCB. The mating contacts are beryllium copper with tin plating — beryllium copper delivers consistent normal force over thousands of insertions, but tin plating limits the rated mating cycle life compared to gold-flashed alternatives. For a socket that sees occasional IC swaps during prototyping or rework, this is acceptable; for high-cycle production test sockets, a gold-plated version would be a better fit.

The contact resistance is specified at 10 mΩ, a typical value for a tin-plated DIP socket in a clean environment.
