Housing for a 10-Circuit Wire-to-Wire Harness
The TE Connectivity 1-1586019-0 is a 10-position, dual-row receptacle housing from the VAL-U-LOK series. It is a free-hanging (in-line) connector body that accepts female socket crimp terminals, making it the wire-side half of a wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect. The natural polyamide (PA66) insulator carries a latch lock for positive retention when mated with the corresponding plug housing. This is a housing only — contacts are ordered separately.
Pitch and Position Count — BOM Fit
The 4.20 mm pitch and 0.165" row spacing are standard for the VAL-U-LOK family. The 10-position count matches a 10-circuit harness layout. The dual-row arrangement keeps the connector body compact for the circuit count — roughly half the length of a single-row 10-position at the same pitch.
What It Mates With and How It Terminates
This receptacle housing mates with a VAL-U-LOK plug housing of the same circuit count and pitch. The latch lock on the housing snaps into the plug's locking ramp — an audible click confirms full engagement. Termination is crimp-style: the installer selects the correct VAL-U-LOK female socket terminal, crimps it to the wire, and inserts it into the housing cavity until the terminal lance locks. No soldering or special tooling beyond the crimp tool is needed.
Temperature Range and Application Fit
The latch lock holds the mated pair under vibration — a common requirement in automotive and machinery harnesses. ROHS3 compliance covers EU restricted-substance regulations.
