Board-to-Wire Power Header for Industrial Harnesses
Its 4.20mm pitch and 9A per-contact rating at 600VAC provide a solid current-carrying margin for moderate-power loads, with the tin-plated brass contacts suited for applications where mating cycles stay under a few hundred over the product life.
The 4.20mm pitch and 0.165" row spacing set the PCB footprint: each signal pair occupies a 4.20mm x 4.20mm grid, leaving room for trace routing between pads on a standard 2-layer board. The 0.142" (3.60mm) solder tail length gives adequate through-hole fill for wave-solder processes on boards up to 1.6mm thick.
Termination is solder-only on the header side; the mating receptacle uses crimp contacts, making this a field-serviceable wire-to-board interface where the board side is permanently soldered and the cable side can be replaced. The natural (white) insulator colour is standard for the VAL-U-LOK series, aiding visual identification during harness assembly.
Lifecycle and Compliance Status
RoHS compliance is confirmed per the current directive.
The 1-1871673-2 is a 12-position version of the same series; if the BOM requires 12 circuits, that part is the direct pitch-and-family match, but the 10-position 1-1586042-0 cannot be substituted without a board layout change. The 1379030-3 is a 6-position VAL-U-LOK header; for lower circuit counts it saves board space, but the 10-position part here is the correct choice when all 10 positions are loaded.
