What This Plug Housing Is and What It Needs
It carries male pin contacts (ordered separately — see the note below) and mates with the matching VAL-U-LOK receptacle housing that accepts female crimp sockets.
You need to order the male crimp pins separately (TE part number 1-1586862-6 is the housing only). The compatible contact is the VAL-U-LOK male pin terminal, typically ordered as a reel of loose pieces for your crimp tool. If your BOM lists this housing and you don't see a terminal line item, add one before the harness build starts.
This plug mates with any VAL-U-LOK 4.20mm-pitch receptacle housing that carries female crimp sockets. The 2-row, 16-position layout means the receptacle must also be a 2-row, 16-position housing; a 1-row or different-count housing won't align. For a board-mount application, the receptacle housing can be panel-mounted or free-hanging; the plug side is always in-line.
