What Wire Gauge and Cable Type Does It Accept?
This receptacle accepts 26-28 AWG stranded or solid conductors, but only in ribbon cable form — the IDC termination slots are spaced for a flat, parallel conductor array. The 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch and row spacing match standard.050" center ribbon cable, where every other conductor lands in the same row. The strain relief and feed-through feature let the cable pass straight through the housing, which keeps the termination square and prevents conductor skew during insertion.
The 1-226733-4 is the same 622 Series IDC receptacle family with 17 positions instead of 50. The 1-226733-4 adds a detent lock feature not present on the 1-1658527-5. The choice is driven by circuit count: 50 positions for a wide ribbon bus, 17 for a narrower cable assembly. Both are active and ROHS3 compliant.
