USB-A Receptacle for Standard Panel and Board-Edge Mounting
It carries 4 contacts and is specified for USB 2.0 data rates, making it backward-compatible with USB 1.x and 2.0 peripherals. A shielded shell of phosphor bronze with gold-plated contacts handles the signal integrity and corrosion resistance expected in repeated consumer and industrial mating cycles.
Board Lock and Mechanical Retention
The housing includes a board lock feature — two metal tabs that solder into plated through-holes on the PCB. These locks anchor the connector against the insertion and withdrawal forces of a USB plug, preventing the solder joints on the signal pins from cracking during field use. The board lock also holds the connector in place during wave soldering, eliminating the need for secondary fixturing on the assembly line.
