IDC termination — what it means on the bench
IDC termination eliminates wire stripping and crimping: the connector is pressed onto the wire bundle with a fixture, and the insulation-displacing blades pierce the jacket to contact the conductor. For 26-28 AWG discrete wire, the 2.00 mm pitch matches standard ribbon spacing — if you are using ribbon cable, verify the conductor pitch matches exactly, or the blades will land between conductors.
