Within the Dynamic D-3 socket family the 1-175217-3 covers 20-24 AWG, while the 1-175216-3 accepts 24-28 AWG and the 1-175218-3 accepts 16-20 AWG — all three share the same 30.0µin gold plating and crimp termination, so the wire gauge is the sole selection axis. A thinner-gold sibling, the 1-175217-2, offers the same 20-24 AWG range with 15.0µin (0.38µm) gold — the 30.0µin version provides additional margin for repeated mating cycles in the same wire range.
