The 1-1761609-3: This is a 40-position, dual-row header from the AMP-Latch series, designed for board-to-cable/wire applications. The right-angle orientation places the mating face parallel to the board, useful for low-profile cable routing along the PCB edge. The shrouded 4-wall housing protects the pins during handling and guides the mating receptacle into alignment. Latch lock/eject hooks on the short side provide positive retention against vibration — the mating half clicks into place and stays there until the latch is deliberately released.
Current, Temperature, and Plating Limits
The 1 A limit is per-pin; total current through the header depends on how many pins carry load simultaneously and the ambient temperature. Mating contacts are finished with gold or gold-palladium at 30.0 µin thickness — this supports repeated mating cycles without corrosion. The solder tails are tin-plated at 100.0 µin for reliable soldering into the PCB.
