What This Terminal Strip Handles
The TE Connectivity 1-1776293-2 is a 12-circuit Eurostyle terminal strip from the TSB230 series, also branded Buchanan. It terminates 12-22 AWG wire under screw clamps, with each circuit rated 30 A at 250 V. Dual-row layout with 24 wire entries means each circuit has a top and bottom screw position for daisy-chaining or feed-through wiring.
Sizing the Wire and the Clamp
The 12-22 AWG range covers most panel and control cabinet wiring — solid or stranded. The screw clamp is steel with a zinc, non-hexavalent chromate finish, so it resists corrosion in a cabinet environment. The enclosed barrier type keeps stray strands from shorting to adjacent terminals. For a 30 A circuit, 12 AWG is the minimum to avoid voltage drop; 22 AWG is for control signals or lower-current taps.
Mounting and Environment
Chassis or panel mount — no DIN rail foot, so plan for screw holes or a bracket. Operating range is -35°C to 100°C, fine for an industrial cabinet but not for outdoor direct sun or an engine bay. The natural nylon color means no visual keying — the 12 circuits and 0.315" pitch are the identifiers.
