The 3.81 mm pitch gives noticeably more creepage than the more common 3.00 mm Dynamic D-3200 variant, which matters when the circuit runs at the upper end of the series voltage rating. A polarizing key on the housing prevents mismating with an incorrectly oriented header, a practical safeguard in a multi-connector panel or harness bundle.
What the 3.81 mm Pitch Buys the Layout
The 3.81 mm pitch is wider than the 3.00 mm pitch used in the Dynamic D-3200 series headers. That extra 0.81 mm per position means the footprint on the PCB or the spacing in a harness is wider, but it also provides more creepage distance between adjacent circuits — a real advantage in applications above 250 V where tracking across the housing surface becomes the limiting factor. The single-row, 10-position layout keeps the cable exit compact; the housing is 38.1 mm wide across the outer positions.
The housing accepts the contacts with a standard crimp-and-insert process; the terminal retention is handled by a lance in the contact that locks into the housing cavity. For the mating half, this plug mates with any Dynamic D-3100 or D-3200 series header that has the same 10-position, single-row configuration and 3.81 mm pitch — verify the header's position count and pitch before committing the BOM line.
