12-Position VAL-U-LOK Receptacle Housing for In-Line Harness Assembly
The TE Connectivity 1-1969603-2 is a 12-position, dual-row receptacle housing from the VAL-U-LOK series. It uses the standard 4.20mm pitch and is designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications. The natural nylon (PA) housing carries a latch lock for positive retention when mated with the corresponding VAL-U-LOK plug header. This is a housing only — contacts are ordered separately and installed via crimp termination.
Pitch, Positions, and Mating Half
At 4.20mm pitch, this housing matches the standard VAL-U-LOK footprint — the same pitch used across the series for both headers and receptacles. The 12 positions are arranged in 2 rows, giving a 6+6 layout that balances wire density with routing space. Mates with the corresponding VAL-U-LOK plug header of the same pitch and position count. The latch lock engages with the header's locking ramp, providing an audible click that confirms full seating.
Mounting and Termination — What It Does and Doesn't Do
This is a free-hanging (in-line) housing — no panel-mount flanges, no board-mount pins. It floats in the harness, terminated by crimping the appropriate VAL-U-LOK female socket contacts (sold separately) onto the wire ends, then inserting them into the housing cavities. The crimp termination is field-serviceable: contacts can be removed with the correct extraction tool. The housing itself carries no current; the current rating depends on the selected contact and wire gauge.
Temperature Range and Material
The natural colour is unpigmented nylon, typical of standard-grade VAL-U-LOK housings.
