What This Cap Is For
The TE Connectivity 1-1991225-6 is a protective cap for the IPT series of industrial connectors. It covers the mating face of an unmated connector half — plug or receptacle — to keep debris, moisture, and shop-floor crud off the contacts during shipping, storage, or when the line is down. The orange color makes it easy to spot on a crowded harness board or in a panel.
Material and Build
Molded from glass-filled polyamide 66 (nylon 6/6), the same material used in the IPT connector housings. That means it shares the thermal and mechanical range of the connector itself — no mismatch in expansion or brittleness when the assembly sees temperature swings. RoHS3 compliant, so it clears the compliance gate for EU-bound equipment.
