MonoPlug Receptacle for Discrete Wire Harnesses
The TE Connectivity 1-2232892-5 is a single-row MonoPlug receptacle designed for discrete wire-to-board applications. It accepts 22-24 AWG wire and terminates via crimp, using a female blade socket contact finished in tin. The 0.098" (2.50 mm) pitch sets the footprint for the mating PCB header, and the latch lock provides positive retention against vibration. The right-angle, free-hanging orientation lets the wire exit parallel to the board, useful in space-constrained enclosures where a straight pull is not possible.
Termination and Retention
Crimp termination is field-serviceable and repeatable — the female blade socket is crimped onto the stripped wire, then inserted into the housing until the latch lock clicks. The latch lock is the primary retention mechanism; it holds the mated pair together without relying on friction alone, which matters in moderate vibration environments like appliance interiors or automotive cabin harnesses.
