The TE Connectivity 1-2305018-2 is a 24-contact USB-C (USB Type-C) receptacle designed for USB 3.2 Gen 2 (formerly USB 3.1 Gen 2) operation, supporting SuperSpeed+ data rates up to 10 Gbps. The 24-contact layout provides the full complement of USB-C signal and power pins, including the configuration channel (CC) for cable orientation detection and power delivery negotiation. The black insulation color is standard for USB-C receptacles.
Current Rating and Power Delivery Profile
The current rating is specified as 0.25A, 1A, and 1.25A — these values correspond to the different pin groups within the USB-C connector. The 0.25A rating applies to the signal and configuration pins, the 1A rating to the standard VBUS power pins, and the 1.25A rating to the ground pins under continuous load. The voltage rating is 30V, which covers the USB-C power delivery voltage envelope up to 20V with margin. For power delivery applications, the actual current per pin must be derated according to the system temperature rise and the PCB copper pour used for thermal management.
Mounting and Termination for PCB Assembly
The connector is terminated by solder and mounted using Surface Mount, Right Angle technology. The board guide feature provides mechanical alignment during reflow soldering, reducing tombstoning risk on the 24 SMT pads.

The shielded construction with steel and stainless steel shell provides EMI containment for the USB 3.2 Gen 2 high-speed differential pairs.
