It is a through-hole, push-pull fastening female socket header designed for parallel board stacking. The mating finish is gold at 3.94 µinch over phosphor bronze contact material. That thickness is a flash — adequate for a one-time or low-cycle board-stack assembly, but not for repeated reconnect duty in a field-service harness. The post finish is tin at 12.0 µinch, which solders cleanly into plated through-holes.
The 2.00 mm pitch of 1-2314822-2 saves board real estate — the footprint is narrower — but the 2.54 mm sibling carries a higher voltage rating (100 V vs 125 VAC) and uses a thicker post plating (12.0 µinch tin on both). For a board-stack design already routed at 2.00 mm, the 1-2314822-2 is the direct fit; the 2.54 mm part requires a different footprint and mating header.
