The TE Connectivity 1-2383938-1 is an 11-position, single-level Termi-Blok terminal block from the Buchanan series. It uses a rising cage clamp terminated by an M3 screw, with the wire entering horizontally relative to the board — the screw faces the board edge, not the top. Rated 13.5 A per position, it handles both signal-level and moderate power terminations in industrial control panels, HVAC controllers, and building automation gear. The black polyamide housing carries a board guide to assist alignment during SMT placement.
Wire Termination and Torque Specs
The rising cage clamp accepts 16 to 30 AWG solid or stranded wire. The M3 screw requires a torque of 0.5 to 0.6 Nm (4.4 to 5.3 Lb-In) — overtightening strips the polyamide threads, undertightening leaves the cage loose. The clamp and screw are copper alloy with nickel plating; the contact surface is nickel-tin plated copper alloy, which resists corrosion in cabinet environments without needing gold.
SMT Mounting and Board Layout
This is a surface-mount terminal block — not the usual through-hole.
