11-Position SMD Screw-Clamp Terminal Block, 3.81 mm Pitch
The TE Connectivity 1-2383945-1 is an 11-position, single-level terminal block from the Termi-Blok, Buchanan series. It uses a screw - rising cage clamp termination and mounts to the PCB via surface mount pads. The 0.150" (3.81 mm) pitch is wider than typical signal-level blocks, giving clearance for the M2 screw and the cage clamp mechanism — this is a power-level interconnect, not a signal-density part. Rated 12 A at 300 V, the block accepts 16-28 AWG wire. The 12 A rating is per-position at the rated temperature; the current path goes through the nickel-plated copper alloy clamp and the nickel-tin plated copper alloy contact.
SMD Mounting and Torque Specs
Surface-mount termination is unusual for a screw-clamp block — most are through-hole. The SMD pads must withstand the mechanical load of the screw torque: 0.5-0.6 Nm (4.4-5.3 Lb-In). That torque is moderate for an M2 screw, but the board pads need good adhesion to avoid lifting during field wiring. The board guide helps locate the part on the PCB during reflow, but the real retention comes from the solder joints, not the guide.
