2-Position Mark I IDC Plug — 5.00 mm Pitch, Tin Tab Contacts
The TE Connectivity 1-282002-8 is a 2-position Mark I series IDC plug for discrete wire harnesses. Its 5.00 mm pitch gives enough room to terminate individual wires without crowding — a practical choice for low-circuit-count power or signal runs where you want IDC speed over crimping each contact. The tin-plated tab contacts handle moderate mating cycles; the latch lock keeps the pair mated under vibration in free-hanging or right-angle cable exits. Closed-end construction prevents wire push-through past the contacts.
Mating Half and Termination Fit
This plug mates with the Mark I receptacle housing that accepts female blade socket contacts — the 1-1703095-1 is a 4-position example of that mating half at the same 5.00 mm pitch and latch lock retention. The IDC termination accepts discrete wire (wire type: Discrete), so you push the unstripped wire into the slot and the insulation-displacing contacts make the connection. No crimp tool needed for the wire side, but the receptacle half uses its own IDC or crimp terminals depending on the variant.
