The 1-282837-2: It carries a 13.5 A current rating at 300 V, placing it in the medium-power terminal block class — suited for control panels, industrial lighting, power supplies, and building automation where the wiring runs at panel voltage and the board edge needs a clean, serviceable connection. The green polyamide (PA66) housing is UL94 V-0 rated (by class), and the rising cage clamp termination accepts 16-28 AWG wire with a specified M3 screw torque of 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In).
Rising cage clamp — torque-controlled termination
Wire termination uses a rising cage clamp: turning the M3 screw (brass, nickel-plated) drives a clamp plate upward, trapping the conductor against the current bar. The specified torque of 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In) is the figure that governs pull-out force and contact resistance — under-torque risks a loose connection; over-torque risks thread or housing damage. The clamp material is brass with nickel plating, and the contact surface is brass with tin plating, giving a corrosion-resistant current path for the 13.5 A rating. The side-entry orientation (horizontal with board) means wires enter parallel to the PCB, which simplifies routing in shallow enclosures.
Interlocking side feature for multi-block assemblies
