14 positions at 5.08 mm pitch — the panel builder's terminal block
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1-282837-4 is a 14-position, single-level PCB terminal block with a 0.200" (5.08mm) pitch, designed for horizontal wire entry relative to the board. It uses a screw-driven rising cage clamp — turn the M3 screw to 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In) and the clamp lifts to grip the wire against the current bar, not crush it. The green polyamide (PA66) housing is standard for identifying ground or neutral circuits in panel layouts.
Interlocking side feature — snap together for custom position counts
The interlocking (side) feature on the 1-282837-4 lets you snap multiple blocks together side-by-side into a single multi-position assembly. This means you can build, say, a 28-position block from two 14-position units without ordering a custom part number — handy when the panel layout changes mid-build. The interlock is a mechanical dovetail on the housing sides; it does not add electrical continuity between blocks — each block still needs its own jumper if you want a common bus.
