9-Position, 10.00 mm Pitch — Panel Power on a PCB
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1-282838-0 is a 9-position, single-level PCB terminal block with a 10.00 mm pitch, designed for wire-to-board power termination in industrial control panels, power supplies, and building automation equipment. The green polyamide housing is rated for 600 V and carries 13.5 A per position, with the wide pitch providing the creepage distance to support that voltage without tracking. The rising cage clamp termination accepts 16-30 AWG wire and is tightened to a specified torque of 0.68 Nm (6 Lb-In) using an M3 screw — the clamp lifts to capture the conductor, not crush it, so stranded wire holds without cold flow.
Screw Termination with a Torque Spec That Matters
The rising cage clamp is plated brass-nickel on both the clamp and the screw, with the contact material being brass-tin plated. The 0.68 Nm torque spec is not a suggestion — under-tightening leaves a high-resistance joint that heats under load; over-tightening strips the M3 thread in the PA66 housing. A torque driver set to 6 Lb-In is the correct tool.
