10-Position, 5.08 mm Pitch PCB Terminal Block for Power Distribution
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 1-282857-0 is a 10-position, single-level PCB terminal block on a 0.200" (5.08mm) pitch. It is designed for through-hole mounting with horizontal wire entry — the screw terminals face the board edge, keeping the wiring parallel to the PCB for clean bus routing in power distribution and industrial control panels. The green polyamide (PA66) housing carries a 24 A per-position current rating at 300 V, with the M3 rising cage clamp accepting wire from 12 AWG down to 30 AWG.
24 A Power Rating with Rising Cage Clamp Termination
The 24 A per-position rating is the headline spec — this is a power-level terminal block, not a signal interconnect. The rising cage clamp, actuated by the M3 screw at 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In), pulls the wire against a nickel-plated brass clamp plate. The contact material is brass with tin plating, which is standard for stationary power connections where repeated mating cycles are not a factor. The 12-30 AWG wire range covers both the heavy power feed (12 AWG) and smaller control wiring (down to 30 AWG) on the same block.
Side Interlocking for Multi-Level Expansion
The interlocking (side) feature lets you mechanically gang multiple 10-position blocks side-by-side into a longer terminal strip without separate mounting brackets. Each block locks into the next, maintaining the 5.08 mm pitch across the assembly. This is useful when a single 10-position block does not cover all the circuits on a board — you add a second block and it registers to the same pitch grid.
