It accepts socket contacts crimped to the wire, then latches into the matching SlimSeal receptacle housing.
Current Rating and What It Means
The 1-2834074-2 carries a dual current rating: 3.5A and 5A per circuit. The lower figure likely applies when the connector is mated and sealed in a warm enclosure — the IP67 gasket traps heat, so derating is necessary. The 5A figure is the open-air, unmated or well-ventilated limit. For a 2-position housing, that means up to 10A total through the pair in favorable conditions, or 7A sealed. The 400V voltage rating gives plenty of headroom for 12V, 24V, or 48V systems.
Mating Cycles and Termination
Plan for it to be mated during assembly and left alone. The crimp termination (socket contacts ordered separately) gives a reliable gas-tight connection when the correct TE crimp tool is used.
