DB-25 Through-Hole Receptacle with Board Locks
The TE Connectivity 1-338315-2 is a 25-position D-Sub receptacle from the AMPLIMITE HDP-20 series, arranged in the standard DB-25 shell layout (3, DB, B). The black UL94 V-0 rated glass-filled polyester housing carries two rows of gold-plated phosphor bronze signal contacts rated 6 A per circuit.
What the 6 A Rating Means for Signal Duty
6 A per contact is the headline current rating for this signal-grade D-sub. The limiting factor in a 25-position shell is the pin density at the board edge, not the contact itself — running all 25 circuits at 6 A simultaneously would exceed the temperature rise ceiling of the housing. For a signal interconnect carrying 1-2 A per line, this connector has substantial headroom.
The phosphor bronze base material provides spring retention in the socket contact. For a permanent-install harness that mates once, the gold plating is still an advantage in humid or mildly corrosive environments.
Board Locks for Vibration Resistance
In a high-vibration industrial cabinet or a mobile equipment panel, those board locks keep the solder joints from fatiguing over time.
The steel shell with tin plating provides EMI shielding when mated with a conductive backshell. ROHS3 compliant per current manufacturing.
