Two-Position Receptacle Housing for the Universal MATE-N-LOK System
The 6.35 mm (0.250") pitch gives enough room between cavities for the larger wire gauges this system accepts — typically 14-18 AWG — without the insulation crowding the latch. This is the receptacle side of the connection, meaning it accepts male pin contacts (ordered separately). The matching plug housing carries female socket contacts. The housing mounts to a panel via the integral locking ears — no separate hardware needed for the panel cutout.
Contacts Must Be Ordered Separately — Here's What Fits
This is the most common sourcing mistake on this part. The housing accepts TE's Universal MATE-N-LOK male pin crimp terminals, which are ordered by wire gauge. For 14-18 AWG stranded wire, the typical terminal is the TE 350779 series pin contact. The crimp terminals are inserted into the rear of the housing and lock into the cavity with a positive retention lance. A secondary TPA (terminal position assurance) insert is available for the series if the application sees high vibration or requires visual confirmation of full terminal seating.
