The closed-end housing prevents inserting a wire from the wrong side, a common mistake on IDC connectors that leads to intermittent opens. IDC termination means the wire is pushed into the slot and the insulation is pierced by the contact tines — no crimp tool, no loose terminals to handle. The 26-28 AWG range is narrow; the 1.50 mm pitch limits the conductor diameter that fits between adjacent slots. The closed end blocks insertion from the wire-entry side, so the termination sequence is one-sided: strip, insert, press. Rework is possible but each re-termination reduces the contact's grip on the insulation.
Mating Half
Mates with the matching Mini CT header (male pin) in the same 12-position, 1-row, 1.50 mm pitch layout. The header is the counterpart — stock both halves or neither, because an orphan receptacle on the shelf is dead stock without its mate.
