17-Position IDC Receptacle for Discrete Wire Harnesses
Tin-plated female sockets suit applications where moderate mating cycles are expected — the tin finish is rated for the wire-to-board interconnect role, not high-cycle field service. The gray, closed-end housing prevents debris ingress into unused cavities and provides strain relief at the cable exit.
The IDC slot accepts 26-28 AWG discrete wire — no crimp terminal or tooling change for different gauges within that range. The free-hanging (in-line) mount lets the receptacle float in the harness, which helps align the mating header during assembly. The closed-end feature means the back of the housing is sealed, so wire strands cannot exit the rear of the contact cavity.
