The TE Connectivity 1-406541-4 is an 8-position 8-contact (8p8c) RJ45 jack — the standard Ethernet connector for Cat5 cabling. It comes shielded with an EMI finger on the shell, which bleeds common-mode noise from the cable shield to the chassis ground before it reaches the signal pairs.

The EMI finger on the shield makes this jack suitable for applications where conducted or radiated noise on the cable shield must be drained to the PCB ground plane — typical for industrial Ethernet, factory-floor switches, and control panels near variable-frequency drives.
