What This 2-Position Plug Housing Does
The TE Connectivity 1-480720-0 is a 2-position plug housing from the Commercial MATE-N-LOK series, designed as the free-hanging (in-line) half of a wire-to-wire or wire-to-board interconnect. The 5.08 mm pitch gives generous spacing between circuits, making it straightforward to route larger-gauge wires without crowding. This is a housing only — contacts are not included. You will need to order the appropriate female crimp terminals separately and terminate them to your wire before inserting into the housing.
Mating and Termination — What You Need to Order
As a plug housing with female socket contacts, this half mates with the corresponding Commercial MATE-N-LOK header (male pin) of the same 5.08 mm pitch and 2-position count. The latch lock on the plug engages with the mating header's locking ramp for a vibration-resistant connection. Termination is crimp-style — strip the wire, crimp the terminal, insert it into the housing cavity until the retention lance locks. The natural nylon colour is standard for the series and makes cavity inspection easy.
