Pin fit and contact metallurgy
The 1-5331677-8: This socket accepts a pin diameter range of 0.030" to 0.033" (0.76mm to 0.84mm) — the mating pin must fall within that band for reliable electrical contact. Closed-bottom design means the socket body is sealed at the solder end — during wave or hand soldering, molten solder cannot wick up into the barrel and block pin entry. Solder termination is the intended method; there is no tail for through-hole or press-fit use.
Mounting and thermal envelope
Mounting hole diameter on the PCB should be 0.062" to 0.063" (1.57mm to 1.60mm) — the socket barrel is pressed into the plated hole and soldered on the land side. Overall socket length is 0.138" (3.51mm) with a flange diameter of 0.080" (2.03mm) that seats against the board surface. Socket depth is 0.125" (3.18mm), leaving 0.013" of solder tail protrusion. The upper limit is above typical reflow profiles, so the socket can survive lead-free soldering without contact relaxation.
