This 1-5645956-1 is a press-fit pin receptacle from TE's Series 2, designed to accept pin diameters from 0.014" to 0.026" (0.36mm to 0.66mm). The beryllium copper contact material gives it the spring memory to hold leads securely through repeated insertions without taking a set. The socket depth ranges from 0.100" to 0.170" (2.54mm to 4.32mm), accommodating different pin lengths. The 100.0µin tin finish provides a solderable surface that also resists oxidation in storage.
Board fit and mounting
Mounting hole diameter is 0.052" (1.32mm), and the socket accepts board thicknesses from 0.031" to 0.093" (0.79mm to 2.36mm). The no-tail design means the socket sits flush with the board surface after soldering — useful when component clearance is tight on the opposite side.
