It carries 25 female sockets in two rows, terminated via solder cups to the PCB through hole. The 6A per-contact rating and 125V voltage limit suit it for parallel-port, industrial I/O, and serial data interfaces where the signal count matches the DB-25 shell size (layout 3). The steel shell with tin plating gives the EMI shielding the D-sub form factor is known for, and the mating-side female screwlock (4-40) keeps the pair cinched tight against vibration. The black colour is the default for the HD-20 series.
