Socket Contact for Multimate III+ Housings
It accepts 16-18 AWG wire and terminates via a standard crimp operation, making it a direct replacement or build component for Multimate III+ connector assemblies. The contact is supplied in bulk packaging for volume harness production.
Rated for 16-18 AWG stranded wire, this socket uses a crimp barrel that deforms around the conductor and insulation. For production crimping, use the tooling specified in the TE application tooling documentation for Multimate III+ contacts.
Plating and Duty Cycle
The 50.0µin tin-lead finish is a standard commercial plating for moderate mating-cycle applications — typically 25 to 50 cycles before the contact resistance begins to rise. This is not a high-cycle or gold-plated contact for frequent disconnect/reconnect service; it is suited for harnesses that mate during installation and remain connected for the equipment life. The brass base material offers good spring properties for the stamped contact beam.
