Stamped socket for the Multimate III+ system
It's the female half of the contact pair — mates with the matching Multimate III+ pin contacts inside the standard III+ housings and headers. Copper nickel alloy base material gives the spring beam enough yield strength to hold retention after repeated insertions.
Accepts 14-18 AWG stranded wire — the stamped barrel crimps down cleanly with the standard TE hand tool or a semi-automatic press. The 14-18 AWG range covers the bulk of power and signal wiring in industrial and automotive harnesses. Use the correct crimp die for the wire size; the gold plating won't flake if the crimp height is within spec.
