D-Sub IDC Receptacle for Discrete-Wire Harnesses
Gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts rated for signal-level duty, with the current capacity varying by the wire gauge selected — the IDC termination itself sets the limit, not the contact beam.
This saves a crimp operation per wire in the harness build but demands consistent wire diameter and insulation thickness across the bundle; mix gauges only within the stated range. The 1.00 µin (0.025 µm) gold finish on the contacts is a flash plating, suited for the limited mating cycles typical of a field-installed cable assembly rather than a repeatedly disconnected test fixture.
Operating Range and Flammability Rating
The steel shell with tin plating provides basic EMI shielding and mates with the standard D-Sub grounding indents on the plug side.
