Wiring and termination for panel builds
The 1-796634-2: This Buchanan series plug accepts 12-30 AWG wire (0.05-3mm²) with a screw-driven rising cage clamp — the clamp lifts to trap the conductor against the current bar, not the screw tip, so fine-stranded wire stays captured without strand fan-out. The specified torque of 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) and strip length of 6-7.5mm give a repeatable termination for field wiring.
Rated power and environmental limits
Rated 15 A at 300 V UL per level, with a single-level 12-position layout — the 0.200" (5.08mm) pitch keeps the terminal spacing wide enough for screwdriver access and full creepage at 300 V. Operating temperature from -40°C to 110°C and a UL94 V-0 polyamide housing suit this plug for industrial control cabinets and HVAC panels where ambient heat and flame rating are specified.
Mating and retention in the header
Plug wire entry is 180° straight, so the cable exits opposite the mating face — useful for daisy-chain wiring where the plug sits inline with the wire run.
ROHS3 compliant; the tin-plated phosphor bronze contacts and PA66 housing meet the material restrictions for EU and North American markets.
