10-position, 5.00 mm pitch screw-clamp plug for panel wiring
The 1-796640-0: This is a Buchanan series 10-position plug, free-hanging (in-line) with screw-rising cage clamp termination. The wire range accepts 12-30 AWG (0.05-3 mm²).
Wiring and retention details
Termination uses a rising cage clamp — tightening the M3 screw to 0.79 Nm (7.0 lb-in) pulls the clamp up, trapping the stripped wire (6-7.5 mm strip length) against the conductor path. The clamp does not twist the wire, so solid and stranded conductors seat evenly. Retention latches on the non-wire side lock the plug into the mating header, preventing vibration-induced disconnection. Side stacking allows ganging multiple plugs side-by-side on the same header row without gaps.
