12-Position 5.00mm Pitch Plug for Panel Wiring
The 1-796640-2 is a 12-position plug from the TE Buchanan series, using a 0.197" (5.00mm) pitch and a Screw - Rising Cage Clamp termination. It accepts wire from 12 to 30 AWG and is rated for 15 A at 300 V.
Rising Cage Clamp and Wire Range
The screw termination uses a rising cage clamp that secures the conductor against the cage wall, with a torque spec of 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) and a recommended wire strip length of 6-7.5 mm. The wire range covers 12-30 AWG (0.05-3 mm²), making it suitable for both power and signal wiring in control panels.
Mechanical Retention and Stacking
Retention latches on the non-wire side lock the plug into the mating header, and side stacking allows multiple plugs to be ganged together without gaps. The plug is free-hanging (in-line) with a 180° wire entry, and the insulation height is 0.610" (15.49 mm).
